Barbara "Barb" M. Corbin

Barbara (Barb) M. Corbin, aged 71, of Rensselaer, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Franciscan Health Rensselaer. Barb was born on November 15, 1954, in Tazewell, Tennessee to Guy and Gladys (Surber) Montgomery. She graduated from Hancock County High School in Sneedville, Tennessee. On June 12, 1993, she married the love of her life, William “Bill” Corbin, and together they shared many happy years of marriage. Barb worked at Northway Products, a bartender/bar manager at the Eagles #2548, and later as a pharmacy technician at Fagen Pharmacy. Barb found her greatest joy, in life’s simple pleasures. She loved tending to her flowers and gardens, spending time outdoors with her husband and her three “boys” - dogs Cooper, Shiloh, and Jessie. Barb enjoyed wandering antique stores in search of treasures to add to her John Wayne, Boyd Bear, and tooth pick holder collection, much to her family’s dismay. She loved country music, country living, and always found peace in the beauty of nature. Some of the families favorite memories are the slow mornings, the smell of fresh bacon sizzling on the stove and muffins warming in the oven, meant another morning spent around the table together. There was never any rush, just good food, conversation, and time with the people she loved most. Just as special were the evenings spent on the front porch, watching the deer wander through the yard. A cigarette in one hand, and a story ready to tell, Barb had a way of making even the simplest moments feel unforgettable. Above all else, Barb’s greatest love was her family. She was her granddaughters biggest fan, rarely missing a game or milestone, and was a constant source of encouragement, love, and support throughout their lives. She showed up every time, simply because that’s who she was. While she loved each member of their family deeply, nothing compared to the joy she found in her little buddy, Corbin James. His laughter and curiosity, and simply being by his side, brought her happiness unlike any other. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Bill, of Rensselaer. Her greatest blessing, Ryann Danielle Foulks (Jim) of Florida, her girls, Kyra and Payton, and her little buddy Corbin. Siblings, Clyde (Wilma) Montgomery of Tennessee, Bill (Judy) Montgomery of Georgia, Kathleen (Jim) Cavin, of Tennessee, Judy Hammond, and Carol Montgomery-Goad, of Indiana. Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Gladys Montgomery, in-laws, Ed (Bud) and Sharon Corbin, sisters Wilma Montgomery, Beulah Griffin, Faye Taylor, Vicky Thorndyke, and three brothers, Max, Merrell, and Fred Montgomery. In keeping Barb’s wishes, private family services will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Barb leaves behind countless loved ones who will miss her dearly, especially her friends at the QVC shopping channel.
