Deborah J. Studer

Deborah J. Studer, age 71, of Green Valley, Arizona, formerly of DeMotte, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024, with her husband by her side. Deborah was born on April 9, 1953, in Rensselaer, Indiana, to Robert and Gertrude (Kerber) Frantz. A proud graduate of Rensselaer Central High School, Class of 1971, Deborah continued her education at Ball State receiving a bachelor's degree and went on to receive her master's degree from Purdue University, earning her degree in physical education. She dedicated 29 years of her life as a beloved teacher in the Crown Point School Corporation, where she touched countless lives before retiring. On March 27, 1976, Deborah married the love of her life, William Studer, in Remington, Indiana. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Deborah was a devoted member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in DeMotte, where she also shared her passion for music by singing in the choir. Deborah's kindness and generosity extended far beyond her family and church. She volunteered at local nursing homes, sharing her time and care with those in need. She enjoyed teaching beading and jewelry-making, hobbies that allowed her to connect with others. An avid lover of the outdoors, Deborah cherished camping, traveling, and fishing—her dream was to one day own property with a lake where she could fish to her heart's content. Deborah is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Bill Studer; her children, Andy Studer of Indianapolis, IN, and Alesha (Aaron) Hibbard of Fort Jennings, OH; her grandchildren, Hayden, Harper, and Haddie Andrews, Lillie, Trevor, and Emily Hibbard, and Guy and Violet Moriarty. She is also survived by her siblings: Cynthia Frantz, Peggy Frantz, Carolyn Frantz, Teresa Miller, Patricia Elaine Frantz, Robert Frantz, and Daniel Frantz. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 from 2:00PM to 6:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in DeMotte at 10:00AM with Father Michael McKinney & Father Rick Nagel officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Rensselaer.
