DORIS JEAN BITTING Doris Jean Bitting age 67, of DeMotte, IN passed away on January 1, 2012 at St. Anthony Medical Center, Crown Point, IN. She was born on October 11, 1944 in Thayer, IN to Edward Silas and Arvesta Angeline (Cox) Criswell, both deceased. Doris was a Mt. Ayr High School graduate with Class of 1962. She was a Broker with McColly. On March 6, 1982 she married Irvin Bitting, who survives. She was a member of Eastern Star, Lake Chapter, Crown Point, IN and past matron 5 times. Doris is survived by her husband, Irvin Bitting, DeMotte, IN: Children; James Michael (Beth) Beam, of AL; Scott Beam; Sherryl Lynne (Brett) Sneed of TN; Bill Douglas (Joni) Bitting, of NE; and Monica Rose (Vincent) Scalf of TN; 10 grandchildren and 3 Great grandchildren Sisters, Esther Louise (Ralph) Oxley and Audrey Helen (John) Hutchison both of OH; Edith Mae (Carlyn) Henry of Roselawn, IN; Brother, Russell Ray (Shirley) Criswell of OH. Preceded in death by her parents and brother Wilber Allen Criswell Friends may call on Wednesday January 4, 2012 from 2-8 PM with an Eastern Star Service at 7 PM at Jackson Funeral Service, DeMotte, IN. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday January 5, 2012 at 10 AM at Jackson Funeral Service, DeMotte, IN with Pastor David Buche officiating. Interment at Roselawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Family.
