Geraldine M. Clouse

Geraldine M. "Geri" Clouse, age 89, of Rensselaer, Indiana, passed away on July 19, 2026, at Parkview Haven Retirement Home. Geri was born on December 16, 1936, in Rensselaer to Walter and Seffie (Melton) Chapman, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Rensselaer High School with the Class of 1955. On December 17, 1955, Geri married the love of her life, George Clouse, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Rensselaer. Together they shared nearly 69 years of marriage before George's passing on April 15, 2024. Throughout her working career, Geri was employed at Schrieber Trucking and Northway Products. She later pursued her entrepreneurial spirit by owning Geri's Closet and eventually became the broker and owner of Help U Buy Real Estate, where she enjoyed helping families find a place to call home. Geri was known for her warm hospitality and her exceptional cooking, especially her homemade chicken and noodles, which became a favorite among family and friends. She loved entertaining and creating lasting memories around the dinner table. She and George treasured spending their winters together at their home in Florida, where they enjoyed retirement and the many friendships they made through the years. Above all, Geri's greatest joy was her family. She cherished every opportunity to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and the generations that followed, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion. She is survived by her children, Jeff (Donna) Clouse and Gary (Laura) Clouse; her grandchildren, Craig (Sara) Clouse, Aimee (Gunner Greene) Brooks, Jillian (Dwayne) Simmons, and Joshua (Liz) Clouse; her great-grandchildren, Kyle Clouse, Carson Clouse, Becca (Dylan Barnes) Brooks, Baylee Brooks, Beau Brooks, Dillan Simmons, Addysan Simmons, and Cale Clouse; and her great-great-grandson, Banks Barnes. Geri was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, George Clouse; and her cherished grandson, Charles "Chuckie" Clouse. Friends may call on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. CT at Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. CT with Pastor Paul Keller officiating. Interment will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Rensselaer.
