Jude Kurtz

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved, Jude Kurtz, 13, who crossed the rainbow bridge on July 24, 2025. Jude was a loyal and funny companion who brought immeasurable joy and laughter into our lives for 11 wonderful years. Jude was 2 years old when Brooke saw her big fat face on an adoption website. She was in a foster home at the time. The meeting time was set, when walking into the facility, Jude stopped and sat and waited for Brooke. The rest was history. For a long time, it was just Jude and me, a dynamic duo navigating life's adventures with a bond that felt unbreakable. We shared a quiet, independent life, just the two of us against the world. Then life happened and our family grew! When Christopher, Ryan, and Emily came into our lives, our little world expanded, and Jude, ever the adaptable and loving soul, embraced the change. She quickly discovered that more people meant more laps for pets, more hands for scratches, and, to her absolute delight, an abundance of new, comfy beds to nap in. She adjusted beautifully, finding even more reasons to spread her unique brand of joy. Jude's vibrant personality shone brightly. She was a true people-lover, greeting every new face with an enthusiastic tail wag and a joyful spirit. Her boundless affection for humans was matched only by her unique sense of humor; she had a knack for comforting when one was sick or just needed pet therapy. While Jude may have preferred the company of her human family over her four-legged counterparts, her devotion to us was unwavering. Jude has only 1 friend she tolerated. Foster B. she leaves behind. She has too many aunts and uncles to count, she loved every single one of you. Jude is preceded in death, by her grandma Bonnie, who gave her Cheetos whenever she could. She was a constant, comforting presence, always there to offer a warm cuddle, a listening ear, or a silly moment, small toot, that brightened even the toughest days. Her loyalty knew no bounds, and we will forever cherish the countless memories we made together. Jude leaves behind a profound void in our hearts that can never be filled. She taught us so much about unconditional love, resilience, and the simple joy of living in the moment. We will miss her goofy grin, her comforting presence, and the unique way she made every day a little brighter. Rest in peace, sweet Jude. You were truly one of a kind, and you will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of loving you.
