Peter "Pete" Edward Polak

Peter “Pete” Edward Polak, age 61, of Wheatfield, IN passed away on July 18, 2023 at his home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Pete fought the battle of Colon Cancer for over 3 years. With the ups and downs, he maintained his faith, strength, and acceptance of this fight to the very end. Pete was ready to go to his final home. Pete was born on June 30, 1962 in Chicago Heights, IL; the son of the late Stanley (Eve Devol) Polak. He attended Bloom Township High School and earned his engineering degree from Purdue University. Pete was the President of Verotix Systems for over 35 years. He was extremely gifted and was blessed with a “technical” mind. Pete could look at something and have it fixed in no time. He was a member of First Church, Wheatfield, IN. Pete is survived by his wife, Carol L. Polak (nee Seper-Mangold) and a blended union of children: Lauren (Nate) Wulf, Alexander Polak, Matthew (Mindy) Mangold, Christopher Mangold, Victoria (Jason) Depew, Bianca (Nicky) Hollins; 6 grandchildren: Dominic, Cameron, Alexus, Calvin, Nevaeh, and baby Mangold; siblings: Christine Polak-Caroll, James (Nancy) Polak, Carolyn (Walter) Borner, Catherine (John) Hejmanowski, Janine (Anthony) Booker, and John (Maegan) Polak. He was a fond Uncle and Great-Uncle to many. Pete is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley & Eve; his late wife, Victoria L. Polak (nee Kollada); and brother, Steven Polak. Pete’s unconditional love from his German Shepherds was no secret. Mina and Maximus “Max” are so lost without seeing their Papa. Knowing Pete, he is the keeper of all the puppies/dogs in heaven. Especially being reunited with his past fur-babies: Silver, Kajtuz, Ski, Sparky, Kishka, Tuz, Gandaulf, and Lycan. Friends and family may visit at First Church of Wheatfield, 5387 IN-10, on Monday, July 24, 2023 from 10:45 AM until 12:45 PM. A funeral service will promptly start at 12:45 PM with Pastor John Hill officiating. Interment will be held at DeMotte Cemetery.
