Victoria Lynn Polak

Victoria Polak, age 57 of Wheatfield, IN went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family and wonderful dogs. Victoria was born on October 31, 1958 in Hammond, Indiana the daughter of Victor and Juliann(Wayo) Kollada. Victoria, a valiant warrior fought a two year battle with breast cancer. An avid learner, she loved cooking and experimenting with recipes. She never wrote her concoctions down, and did everything by taste, figuring out what was missing to take something from ordinary to extraordinary. She baked, not because she liked to, but because she always wanted to give her family something sweet to enhance their day. Her infectious smile, quick wit, and laughter always took a gloomy day and made it better. She greeted you with arms wide open, ready for a hug whether it had been hours or months since she last saw you. She’s now watching over her gaggle and smiling upon the raucous noises being made by them. Her rousingly loud Nutcracker Suite at every major holiday while she worked her magic for a feast will be missed. Victoria graduated from Highland High School, Class of 1976. She went on to college at Moraine Valley Community College where she earned an engineering degree. She was the CEO of Verotix Systems for over 25 years. On January 6, 1996 Victoria married the love of her life, Peter in Orland Park, Illinois and with that union they were blessed with four children. Victoria is a member of the First Church. She and Peter became born again in Jesus Christ on August 21, 2016 through their full emersion baptism. Victoria is survived by her husband, Peter, children: Victoria (Jason) Depew; Bianca (Nicky) Barriger; Lauren (Nathan) Wulf; and Alexander Polak, grandchildren: Alexus, Calvin, Nevaeh, Dominic, and Cameron, siblings: Bill (Betty) Kollada and Michelle Kollada; and her dogs: Lycan and Mina. Victoria was preceded in death by both her parents. Friends may visit on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 2:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the Jackson Funeral Service in DeMotte, IN. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Jackson Funeral Service in DeMotte, IN with Pastor John Hill officiating.
