William F. "Bill" Edwards

William “Bill” F. Edwards, 73, of Rensselaer, IN passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2020. Bill was born on January 23, 1947 in Brookville, PA to James O. Edwards and Betty L. Lindeau. Bill was a graduate of Springs Valley High School in French Lick, IN with the Class of 1965. On July 23, 1994 he married Lynda L. (Moore) Tillotta Edwards in Rensselaer, IN. He was employed at Schilli Transportation in Remington, IN as a Computer Programmer and recently retired in May of 2019. Bill was a self-taught woodworker and craftsman. He loved his temperature controlled GIANT workshop filled with tools. Rarely idle, Bill always had a project to keep him busy. He was an IT Guru with quick wit and endless humor. He was always willing to teach, was wise, told amazing stories, and gave the best advice. He enjoyed classic rock music, especially George Thorogood. He was an animal lover, great cook, and was a sucker for Sycamore Ice Cream and peanut buster parfaits. Bill also occupied his time as a member of the American Legion Post #42 in Charlotte, MI. He was a loving husband, son, brother, father, Grandpa/Grampy, uncle, and friend. Endlessly devoted to Lynda, he pierced his ear upon her request. He loved her beyond words and would’ve given her the world. She was his sweet pea, toots, and dolly. Bill is survived by; his mother, Betty L. Lindeau of Portland TX; his loving wife, Lynda; children, Troy H. Edwards of Columbus, OH, Tarin H. Edwards of Albion, MI, and daughter, Courtney (Tegan) Tillotta Easton of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, William A. (Heidi) Edwards, S. Brandon Edwards, Alissa L. Edwards, and Kellyn Easton; great-grandchildren, Alexander, William, and Mary Edwards; two siblings, Guy R. (Dawn) Edwards of Woodstock, VT and Dee (Robert) McElroy of Floresville, TX. Bill was preceded in death by his father, James O. Edwards. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, November 1, 2020 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM CDT at Jackson Funeral Chapel, Rensselaer. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 10:30 AM CDT at Jackson Funeral Chapel with Dr. James Blanchard officiating. Social distancing and mask wearing will be observed at all services due to the current pandemic. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to cover funeral expenses. Bill had a caring nature and always helped others. He intended to become a donor hero through the gift of tissue donation, however was unable to do so. He will always be a hero in our hearts.
