Betty Jane Brubaker

February 16, 1927 - April 27, 2022

Betty Jane Brubaker, age 95, of DeMotte, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Oak Grove Christian Retirement Village, where she and Raymond were the first two residents at the new facility. On February 16, 1927 in Alma, Illinois, Betty was born to Alva and Lela (Clow) Williams. She graduated from Kinmundy High School in Illinois, Class of 1944. She married Raymond Brubaker on June 2, 1946 in Alma. He preceded her in death on September 24, 2004. Betty worked and was a leader for many teams at Montgomery Wards for a large part of her adult life, 25 years, which she fondly talked about all throughout her life. She is a member of the DeMotte United Methodist Church and past member of the United Methodist Women’s Club. Betty was an amazing wonderful woman and a role model for all people. She was loving, honest, humble, caring, dependable, a devoted friend, encouraging, and always there to listen. Betty was a servant to not only her family but also to the community and everyone around her. She enjoyed quilting with a multitude of quilts for her family. When you would visit Betty, she would make you feel so very special. Her life gave great value of love to everyone she knew. Betty is survived by her children: David (Joy) Brubaker of Sandpoint, ID; Daniel (Johanna) Brubaker of DeMotte, IN; Janis Land (Suzie Stalter) of Bourbonnais, IL; 12 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, brother, Loris Williams and sister, Elnora (Don) Cheatem. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alva & Lela; husband, Raymond Brubaker; daughter, Ramona Jane Borman; grandson, Paul Borman Jr; four brothers: DeWayne, Gene, Paul, and Rob Williams. Friends and family may visit at Jackson Funeral Service of DeMotte on Monday, May 2, 2022 from 9:00 until 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow promptly on Monday, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ed van Wijk officiating. Interment will be held at Cemetery of the Resurrection. Memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s name to Oak Grove Retirement Village.
