Beverly Joan Starns

Beverly Joan Starns, age 75, of Manassas, Virginia, formerly of DeMotte, Indiana, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022, at Lexington Community Hospice House in South Carolina. She had a brief journey with cancer and travelled with Faith, Love, Dignity and Grace. Beverly was born on November 24, 1946 in Rensselaer, Indiana, the daughter of Ralph, Sr. and Sadie (Sipkema) Myers. She graduated with honors from Demotte High School in the Class of 1964 and graduated with a degree in mathematics from Indiana State University in 1968. She taught mathematics at Eisenhower Senior High School in Lawton, Oklahoma, before becoming a professional mother for 50 years and grandmother for 12 years. She lived in Manassas, VA for the last 40 years, where she was a member of Berean Baptist Church, a past volunteer at SERVE, and a collector of antique dolls. Beverly is survived by her sons, Jason (Cindy) Starns of Lexington, SC and Jeff Starns of Manassas, VA; grandchildren, Curtis and Kyla Starns; sister, Patricia (Bob) Nuss of DeMotte; sister, Delores Schomaker of Westville; brother, Ralph (Ardy) Myers Jr. of DeMotte; sister-in-law, Teresa Starns of Pittsboro. She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved son, Jeremy Starns; sweet grandnephew, Blake Myers; mother-in-law, Margaret Starns Tague (Redenbaugh); father-in-law, Harold Starns; and brothers-in-law, Don Schomaker and Joseph Starns. Friends and family may visit at Jackson Funeral Service of DeMotte, on Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 10:00 to 12:00 PM. A funeral service will follow immediately on Saturday at Jackson Funeral Service of DeMotte at 12:00 PM with Pastor Troy Nanninga officiating. Interment will be held at Holland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Beverly’s name to the National Hemophilia Foundation www.hemophilia.org .
