Emilia Villarreal, age 73, passed away at her home surrounded by her family in Lafayette, Indiana on September 14, 2018. She was born in Matamoros Tamaulipas, Mexico on October 25, 1944, the daughter of Felipe and Santos (Ramos) Balboa. She attended Olmito Public Schools in Texas. On October 15, 1965, in Brownsville, Texas, Emilia married Guadalupe Villarreal who survives. Emilia worked as a general laborer at Sealy Spring Components for 10 years, Schumacher’s Electric for 13 years. She also worked at the Holiday Inn for 5 years. She was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Rensselaer. Surviving are her loving husband Guadalupe, loving children, Ulysses (Ester) Villarreal of Lafayette, Claudia (Jose) Salazar of Lafayette, Omar Villarreal of Rensselaer and Cecilia (Tom) Riva of Lafayette. Emilia had 8 grandchildren and 1 great- great granddaughter. Her loving brothers and sisters, Maria Adela Martinez of Chico, CA., Jose Balboa of Albuquerque, NM., Gloria Balboa of Olmito, TX.,Hermelinda Garza of Mission TX.,Esequiel Balboa of Davison, MI., Exiquio Balboa of Clinton, NB., Alejandra Balboa of Oxnard CA. Martha Crixell of Brownsville, TX. Emilia is preceded in death by her parents, Filipe and Santos Balboa, a sister Gloria Balboa and brother Jose Balboa.Friends will be received at Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM CDT until the time of service at St. Augustine Catholic Church at 1:00 PM with Father Don Davison officiating. Graveside services will follow at Memory Gardens Rensselaer, Indiana.
