James L. Adamson, age 77, of Remington, Indiana passed away September 17, 2018 at his home. He was born in Rensselaer, Indiana on February 23, 1941 to Elmer and Janet Adamson. Jim was raised in Remington, graduating from Remington High School. He entered the United States Navy on October 1, 1959 and served on the U.S.S. Helena at the time of his discharge on July 3, 1963. Jim was the owner / operator of Adamson Builders. He was a member of Remington American Legion Post #280 and Masonic Lodge #351 F. & AM in Remington. His marriage was to Janet Lewis in Rensselaer, Indiana on December 23, 1983 and she survives. Jim enjoyed fishing and being involved in his community. His greatest joy came in being with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving with his loving wife Janet are three children, Susie (Jerry) Risinger of Monticello, IN, Scott Adamson of Indiana and David (Shelly) Howard of Wheatfield, IN, four grandchildren, Nick Houston, Jamie (Tricia) Houston, Katie (Zac) Carson and Alexis (Alex) Hoffman, two great-granddaughters, Paisleigh and Emmy, and his four sisters, Sandy, Rita, Marcia and Debbie. The family will receive friends at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer on Friday, September 21, 2018 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. CDT with Masonic Lodge services and Military rites at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. CDT with Melvin Lane officiating.
