Jeffrey L. Gastineau

December 27, 1961 - April 24, 2022

Jeffrey L. Gastineau, 60, of Rensselaer, Indiana passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022, at Franciscan Health Lafayette East. Jeff was born in Rensselaer, IN, on December 27, 1961, the son of Kenneth and Shirley (Richards) Gastineau. Jeff graduated from Rensselaer Central High School with the Class of 1980. He then earned his associate degree from Florida Management Tech. On May 5, 1990, in Rensselaer, IN, he married Patricia “Tricia” Anne Bontreger. Jeff worked at WLQI radio station for over ten years. Prior to that, he worked in auto maintenance and tire installation. Jeff attended and was an elder at the Fellowship of Living Hope Church. He was a board member of the Fendig Theatre for Children and a member of the Jasper County Fair Association. Jeff enjoyed his involvement as a coach and board member for the Rensselaer soccer program. Many in the community knew him from his love of playing Santa at Christmas for various local events. Also, Jeff loved all things sports and he never met a stranger. His favorite moments were spent with his family playing music and worshipping together. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and community. Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Tricia of Rensselaer; children, Steffen Gastineau of Denver, CO, Taylor Gastineau of Kansas City, MO, Simmeon Gastineau of Springfield, MO, Ezekial Gastineau of Kansas City, MO, and Elijah Gastineau of Kansas City, MO; mother, Shirley; siblings, Karen, David, and Daniel. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth “Gus” Gastineau. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM CDT on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM CDT on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Jackson Funeral Chapel with Edwin Bontreger officiating. Private interment will follow at Weston Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fellowship of Living Hope Church.
