Junior Lee Sizemore

April 20, 1954 - December 29, 2021

Junior Lee Sizemore, age 67, of Monticello, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. Junior was born on April 20, 1954, in Rensselaer, IN, and was the son of Kiser and Alma (Dobson) Sizemore. After completing primary school, Junior learned through hard work and life experience and delved deep into hunting, fishing, and became an avid outdoorsman which became a lifelong passion and was well respected amongst his peers because of it. Junior was also well known for his vast collection and extensive knowledge of Native American arrowheads and artifacts. Junior had a knack for refurbishing furniture and used this skill extensively as co-owner of J&L Antiques and Furniture with his wife Linda (Phelps), prior to which he was a dedicated employee of Sealy Mattress for over 30 years. Junior is survived by his wife, Linda; Children, Melody (Sean Kingman) Steinmetz, Angela (Chad) Witherington, Nicholas (Kari Jean Mitchell) Sizemore, step-children; Deanna (Randy) Johnson and Stacey Harrison, siblings; Rita (Art) Wendt, Anthony (Sheila) Sizemore, Eldon (Carlen) Sizemore, Juanita (Keith) Arnett, Randy (Suzanne) Sizemore, Jeff (Deb) Sizemore, and Tina (Jeff) Hudson. Junior is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Junior was preceded in death by his parents, and his infant daughter Vanessa Lynn. Friends may call on the family on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, from 2p.m. until 8p.m. CST, at Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer at 10a.m. CST with pastor Doug Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Rensselaer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Niches Land Trust- 1782 N. 400 E, Lafayette, IN, 47905. A special thanks to the staff at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis and all Covid health care workers. The family has requested masks be worn if you will be in attendance of the visitation and/or funeral service.
