Michael A. Gifford

Michael A. Gifford, 71, of Rensselaer, Indiana passed away Friday, April 22, 2022, Kindred Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. Michael was born in Rensselaer, IN, on April 20, 1951, the son of Darold and Elizabeth (Schafer) Gifford. Michael attended the Rensselaer public schools. He worked as a Maintenance Supervisor at Genova Plastics in Rensselaer. Michael married Nancy L. Pearson in Rensselaer and she survives. Michael was a past member of the Indiana National Guard. He was affiliated with the Trinity United Methodist Church. Michael was a member of the NRA and he loved to hunt, fish, and camp. He and Nancy enjoyed spending time at Sugar Mill Lake in Hillsboro, IN. Michael loved his family and especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed. Michael is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; children, Jennifer (Timothy) Widner of Rensselaer, IN and Gerald (Abby) Gifford of Lafayette, IN; mother, Elizabeth; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Cheryl Querry of Rensselaer, IN. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Darold; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM CDT on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer. A Funeral Service will be held immediately following at 2:00 PM CDT at Jackson Funeral Chapel with Pastor Andy Martin officiating. Memorials may be made to the Oncology Department at Franciscan Health Rensselaer.
