June 8, 1936 - September 22, 2017

Ronald C. “Ron” Goodman, age 81, of Rensselaer, Indiana went home to be with his LORD and SAVIOR on September 22, 2017. He was born on June 8, 1936, in Fowler, Indiana to Jacob and Edna (Winner) Goodman. Ron was raised in Benton County, graduating from Fowler High School with the Class of 1954. On June 8, 1957, in Earl Park, Indiana Ron married his sweetheart Pearl Krick and they recently celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. Ron was a farmer and they operated a dairy farm for thirty years. He looked forward to the harvest season and drove a semi hauling seed corn for many years. Ron was a member of the Rensselaer Retired Iron Club, and enjoyed spending time with his family, grandkids, fellow farmers and was an avid antique tractor collector. They enjoyed wintering in Florida since 2002 and made many lasting friendships. Ron was a member of the Tri-County Bible Church in Rensselaer where he faithfully served his church and the Lord. Ron cherished his family and will be missed dearly by them. Surviving with his loving wife Pearl are their children, Rick (Peggy), Tim (Tracy) and Julie (Tom)Moore all of Rensselaer; twelve grandchildren, Christa (Mike) Gott, Nicole (Markus) Davis, Stephanie (Sean) King, Natalie (Joel) Olenik, Jamie (Jacob) Sechrest, Kelsey (Gerrett) Dobson, Josh (Arlun) Wollack, Jacob (Heather) Goodman, Ben (Shelby) Goodman, Austin Moore, Heidi Goodman and Drew Moore and twelve great grandchildren. He is also survived by four brothers, Bob (Arlene) Goodman of Lafayette, Tom (Ruby) Goodman of Kokomo, Dave Goodman of Francesville, and Edward “Joe” (Margie) Goodman of Winamac, and a sister, Jacinta Zink of Lafayette. Ron was preceded in death by his parents. The family will receive friends at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer on Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. CST. Funeral services will be on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. CST at the Tri-County Bible Church with Pastors Andy Majorins and Daniel Warren officiating. Burial will follow at Crockett Cemetery, Rensselaer. The family suggests memorials be made to the Rensselaer Retired Iron Club, Franciscan Hospice Care of Rensselaer, or Tri-County Bible Church.
