Ruth Leona Trudeau

Ruth L. Trudeau of Rensselaer, Indiana passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at the Rensselaer Care Center. Ruth was born in Culver, Indiana on October 1, 1925, one of seven children born to Floyd and Leona (Lindzy) Ross. She resided in both Culver and Plymouth, Indiana, moving to Rensselaer in 1948. Ruth was first married to Donald Devere Fishburn. Donald was killed in 1945 while serving his country in Germany during World War II. Ruth worked during the war at the Glove Factory in Plymouth. She moved to Rensselaer in 1948. Together with her sister and brother-in-law, Clara and Luther Cole, she operated a local taxi service. On April 16, 1952, in Rensselaer, Ruth married Jerry L. Trudeau. Jerry preceded her in death on June 16, 1983. Ruth was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Tyner, Indiana and a former 50 year member of the Rensselaer V.F.W. Post #1279 Women’s Auxiliary. She was an avid card player and enjoyed being with family and friends. Surviving Ruth is her loving son, Ross (wife Carol) Fishburn of Rensselaer, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren and her sister, Ellen Anderson of North Judson, Indiana. Preceding her in death with her husband Donald and her husband Jerry were her parents, four sisters, one brother. Friends may call at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer on Monday, April 30, 2018, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Funeral services for Ruth will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2018, at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer with Pastor Mark Fishburn officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Rensselaer, Indiana. Contributions in memory of Ruth may be made to the Rensselaer V.F.W. Post #1279.
