Betty Marie Warne

Betty Marie Warne, age 90 of Roselawn, Indiana, passed away at her home peacefully on Friday, May 12, 2023 surrounded by her family. Betty was born on September 20, 1932 in Windsor, Missouri, the daughter of Charles & Mary (Fern) Lloyd. Moving to Newton County when she was 4 years old, Betty attended Roselawn grade school and graduated from Mt. Ayr High School, the Class of 1951. She worked as a grocery store clerk, the acting Post Master for 1½ years at the Roselawn Post Office and as the Head Cook for 25 ½ years at Lincoln Elementary School. She served her community in many other ways also by being a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post #238 and a member of the Redeemer Church of Roselawn. She enjoyed cooking, baking pies, gardening & caring for her home and yard. She enjoyed feeding and watching hummingbirds that visited her yard. She also, enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. Above all, however, she loved & cherished her family. On November 25, 1951, in Rensselaer, Indiana, she married Richard “Dick” Warne, who passed away on December 14, 2001. Betty is survived by children, Richard (Karen) Warne, Mt. Ayr, IN; Hal (Sheila) Warne, Deltona, FL; Robert “Bob” (Jill) Warne, Roselawn, IN; & Dale (Debbie) Warne, DeMotte, grandchildren, Jaime (Rob) Dinn, Kokomo, IN; Richard (Brandee) Warne, Rensselaer, IN; Eric (Lindsey) Warne, DeMotte, IN; Megan (Chris) Warne, Crown Point, IN; Dustin (Amber) Warne, Sanford, FL & Brandon Hall, Deltona, FL; Justen Warne, Bloomington, IN & Jared (Caitlin) Warne, W. Lafayette, IN; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Hayden, Robert, Emily, Evan, Emmett, Ayda & Raylee, siblings, Barbara Symanovich, Catasauqua, PA & Mary Lou Clarke, Schertz, TX; Cousins, nieces, nephews & great-nieces & nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Dick, one grandson, Cody Warne, a great-grandson, Rowan, two brothers-in-law, Steve Symanovich & Bob Clarke. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at Jackson Funeral Service of DeMotte. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 1:00PM with Pastor Joel Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow at Fair Oaks Cemetery. Memorials contributions in Betty’s name may be made to the Redeemer Church of Roselawn, 5417 E. State Rd. 10 DeMotte, IN 46310.
