John "Jack" Donovan Jr

John H. “Jack” Donovan, Jr., 84 of Rensselaer, Ind. passed away at his home April 26, 2013. He was born June 22, 1928, in New Lisbon, Wisconsin, the son of John H. Donovan Sr. and Edwardine (White) Donovan. Jack was a graduate of St. Igantius High School and DePaul University in Chicago. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. In New Lisbon, Wisconsin on August 7, 1954, Jack married Joan E. Wiseman who survives. Jack was a controller for 24 years at the former Northway Products in Rensselaer. He had also worked with the Koehring Company for 10 years. Jack was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Rensselaer and Knights of Columbus Bishop Dwenger Council. He was also a member of the Rotary International, was a Paul Harris Fellow and enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels for 18 years. Jack loved spending time at Castle Rock Lake in Wisconsin during the summer, along with biking, swimming, sailing, kayaking and camping. He is survived by his loving family, wife Joan E. Donovan, Rensselaer; six children, Mark Donovan and Maureen (Ken) Healey, both of Rensselaer, Anne (Mark) Koopman, Wausau, Wisc., John (Amelia) Donovan, Schereville, Ind., Mary (Rick) Burke, Florence, Kentucky and Jane (Daryl) Yeoman, Logansport, Ind.; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Anne Vogt, King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, Mary Donovan, Seneca, Ill., and Jane Tjemmes, Beecher, Ill., and two brothers, Charles “Pete” (Jan) Donovan, Palos Heights, Ill. and William (Cheryl) Donovan, Ottawa, Ill. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and infant twins. The family will receive friends at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer Monday, April 29, 2013 from 9 - 11:30 A.M. Funeral mass will be held Monday, April 29, 2013 at 12:00 P.M. at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Rensselaer with Fr. Tim McFarland officiating. Graveside services with burial to follow will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery, New Lisbon, Wisconsin. The family will be hosting a luncheon at the Pine Cove Resort immediately following the burial. All are welcome to attend. The family suggests memorials to the St. Augustine Catholic Church or Jasper County Hospital Home Healthcare and Hospice.
