Myrl Lee Forsyth

Myrl L. Forsyth age 90 of DeMotte, IN passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the Oak Grove Christian Retirement Village, DeMotte, IN. Myrl was born in Hammond, IN on September 6, 1924 the daughter of Heber and Madolyn (Hall) Larrance. Myrl attended Thorton-Fractional High School and was a graduate of IU/PU Indiana with a degree in nursing. Myrl’s first marriage was to Robert S. Hanley and he passed away in 1997. On August 26, 1988 in Roselawn, IN she married Grayson David Forsyth and he passed away on October 9, 2011. Myrl was a retired LPN and had worked at the St. Anthony Hospital and Cape Coral Hospital with a total of 22 years of service. Myrl had also been a farm wife, waitress and past 4-H leader. Myrl was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Zephyrhills, FL and long time member of the Roselawn Methodist Church, where she played the organ, piano and sang. Myrl enjoyed needle work, reading, playing bridge and other card games. She also enjoyed traveling, camping and visiting new places. Myrl leaves behind her children, Robert L. (Jan) Hanley of Vancouver, WA, Patricia (Jim) Anderson of Morocco, IN and Janice M. (Larry) Cady of Lake Village, IN; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; 2 step-daughters, Ellen (Bob) Abutin and Betsy (Pete) Adams; sisters, Norma Spears of Anderson, IN, Adele (Elmer) Kish of Sun City, AZ and Jane (Mike) Larrance of Arvarda CO; brother, Richard (Sherrie) Larrance of Crown Point, IN; sister in law, Caroline Larrance of Sun City, AZ. Myrl was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Alan Larrance; one sister, Dorothy Madison and one brother in law, Ken Madison. Friends may call Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM at the Jackson Funeral Service, DeMotte, IN. Funeral Services will be held at the Jackson Funeral Service, DeMotte, IN, Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 1:30 PM with Pastor Daniel Hester officiating. Interment will follow at the Memory Gardens Cemetery, Rensselaer, IN.
